for Peachtree Physical Therapy

by VIV Architects

This is an interior remodeling project converting a 2,000 SF of cold dark shell commercial condo space into a doctor’s office for Physical Therapy. Physical exercises and rehab activities in the work-out space are intended to be visible from outside through front storefront windows and observed by families and patients waiting in the reception/lobby through full-height glass partition. Three groups of space programs - 1. large work-out and physio-therapy beds spaces, 2. private exam and consulting rooms, and 3. compartmentalized serving functions such as reception, restrooms, and changing room, need to be positioned in organized sequences and organically related in a narrow long space. The lobby viewing glass partition line was slightly angled (15 degree) to the left from approaching axis. The exam and consulting rooms were designed to give cozy private office look by LED lit open wall shelving and indirect lightings. Full height glass door with translucent patterning is to provide room privacy and visual connection with the hall at the same time. Indirect uplight ceiling light fixtures at the physio-therapy beds were selected to care for the patients who will be facing up from the beds.
